Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Descant is operated by Autonomy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website during our closed beta, what customer content the Descant service processes when you connect a repository, how we use both, and the choices you have. By submitting the invite-request form you agree to the handling of your information as described here.
Information we collect
Information you provide. When you request an invite, we collect the email address you enter and, if you choose to share it, your company name. We use these to respond to your request and manage access to the closed beta.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and content-delivery providers record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. We use this only to operate and secure the site. This site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- Respond to your invite request and evaluate beta access.
- Communicate with you about the closed beta.
- Operate, maintain, and secure this website.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in running and securing the beta as the bases for this processing. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the beta — for example form processing, hosting, and email delivery — under agreements that limit their use to providing those services, and where required by law or to protect our rights.
Customer code and the Descant service
When you connect a repository to the Descant service, we process the content needed to do the work you ask for: repository contents such as code and configuration, issue and pull-request text, and the settings you choose for the repository. We use this content solely to plan, implement, review, and deliver the changes you request — never for advertising or profiling, and never to train models.
AI model providers
To do this work, portions of your repository content — code and diffs, issue and pull-request text, and task instructions — are sent to our AI model providers, including an independent code-review provider. Under our agreements with these providers, API inputs and outputs may be retained for up to 30 days for abuse and trust-and-safety monitoring and are then deleted, and they are not used to train the providers’ models. Each provider is bound by a data-processing agreement. We disclose our subprocessors by role on the subprocessor list; specific provider identities are available on request.
Data retention
We keep invite-request information for as long as needed to evaluate and operate the closed beta, and a reasonable period afterward, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
For the Descant service: run history and event logs are retained for 365 days; the working context and transcripts a run produces are retained for 90 days; in-app notifications for 90 days. After these periods, records become eligible for routine deletion. Usage and billing records are retained for as long as financial and legal obligations require. Account information is kept until you close your account or make a verified erasure request. Learnings the service commits to your own repository live in your repository and remain under your control.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to our use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
International transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Children
This site is intended for professional use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
