Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. They let a service recognize your browser across requests — for example, to keep you signed in. Some cookies are strictly necessary for a service to function; others are optional.

This marketing site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our hosting and content-delivery providers may record standard technical request data, but we do not use it to track you across other sites.

When you sign in to the Descant dashboard, we set strictly-necessary cookies to authenticate you and maintain your session. None of them serve advertising or cross-site tracking. These include:

• Session cookie — a __Secure- prefixed cookie that keeps you signed in. On our multi-subdomain deployment it carries a domain attribute so a single sign-in works across our application subdomains (the “shared-apex” behavior); for that reason it uses the __Secure- prefix rather than __Host-, which does not permit a domain attribute. The dashboard does not work without it.
• Sign-in security cookies — cookies used during sign-in to protect against cross-site request forgery, to carry sign-in (OAuth) state, and to remember where to return you after sign-in. The cross-site-request-forgery cookie uses the host-only __Host- prefix; the others use the __Secure- prefix (HTTPS-only).
• Two-factor authentication cookies — short-lived cookies set only while you enrol in or complete two-factor authentication, then cleared. They are strictly necessary to verify the second factor.

All of these cookies are HttpOnly and sent only over HTTPS. Because they are strictly necessary to provide the service, they are not subject to opt-in consent, but you can still control them through your browser as described below.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking the strictly-necessary cookies above will prevent you from signing in to or using the Descant dashboard.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
